      Current research interests:

  • Tertiary vertebrate faunas of India, including mammals (both terrestrial and marine), their evolutionary and biogeographic implications and integration with floral proxies.
  • Microbiota, from the late Cretaceous Deccan and infra- and intertrappean sequences of peninsular India, and their implications for K/T boundary events,  paleoclimates, paleoecology and paleobiogeography  
  • Integration of faunal and floral fossil data with stable isotope geochemistry and strontium isotope stratigraphy.
